Why We Made It

This card was inspired by a baby naming that took place in our synagogue.

After the Torah was brought out and the baby was named, one of the guests turned to us and asked, “Did they say the baby’s name yet?”

That moment made us realize how difficult it can be for someone unfamiliar with the ceremony to understand what is happening—or even recognize when the baby has officially been named.
