Silver-Like Plastic Kiddush Cups
For years, Shluchim around the world asked us to create a proper “shiur” Kiddush cup—small enough to be practical for the four cups at the Pesach Seder, but elegant enough for the Shabbos and Yom Tov table.
The idea was simple: a smaller cup would make it much easier to encourage the four kosos—and save a lot of wine from being wasted.
But we didn’t want it to look small. That would take away from the elegance and give it a disposable feel.
We looked into it many times over the years, but the mold and design fees—upwards of $10,000—made it hard to move forward. Still, the requests from Shluchim kept coming. Many offered to be mishtatef in the mold, place larger orders, and help spread the word.
Finally, we took the plunge and created a custom mold for a brand-new 3.3 oz silver-like Kiddush cup.
According to the Alter Rebbe, the required shiur for Kiddush, Havdalah, and the Four Cups at the Seder is approximately 2.9 oz.
In situations where someone can’t drink the entire cup, it's sufficient to drink most of it. Our 3.3 oz cup was carefully designed to be just over shiur, allowing room for practical use without compromising halachic standards.
